Methodology

What we counted. The supply figures cover 222 marine service companies operating across South Florida as of July 2026. Each company was individually reviewed before being counted: business name, city, and county confirmed, and its web presence (website, Instagram, published email) checked directly at the source. Duplicates, defunct listings, and out-of-area operators were removed.

Where the prices come from. The benchmark ranges are the same ranges published on ShipShape's service pages, compiled from South Florida market rates. They describe typical quotes, not guarantees; every boat and every job is different.

What is not here yet. Demand-side metrics (quote request volume, median quoted and booked prices by trade) begin publishing as quote volume accrues on the platform. We will not print a demand number we have not measured ourselves.

Cadence & citation. The index is updated quarterly as the dataset grows and new trades reach verification standard. The data is free to cite with attribution and a link to ShipShape Pros.
